Czech poet Martin Reiner has a new book out called In the Land of Cannibals. It contains 40 English translations of his poems. The publication is a nice pocket size paperback with poems taken from two previously published books in the U.S. (Where is the Urn?, 2005 and Art Bureau's chapbook, No Through Road, 2007). A dozen more poems have also been added and are being published in English for the first time. The book was published in April by Druhe Mesto (Second City) out of Bruno, Czech, but you may email Martin for price and shipping info (info [!AT] martinreiner.cz).

Back in 2006, Art Bureau 12 published an article about how Paper Boat Boutique & Gallery was expanding. Well, the following press release was in our inbox this morning.-----------
Dearest patrons of Paper Boat,
As of May 31, 2009 Paper Boat Boutique & Gallery will be closing its doors after 4 great years of being open. The current economic climate is the main reason that led us to this very difficult decision.
To help us reduce our inventory, we really hope you can join us for our closing sale during the months of April and May. It will be a great time to pick up those items you've always been meaning to get. Also, don't forget to spend your gift certificates if you have been holding onto one!
Even though the Boat is closing, we are excited to seek out new opportunities and projects. We would also like to stress the importance of supporting the small businesses and galleries in Milwaukee. Those spaces are vital to keeping our city and our community unique and enjoyable.
We hope to see all of you during the last couple of months of being open!
Warm regards,
The ladies of the Boat-
Faythe Levine & Kim Kisiolek
